Painting The Family Pet

One subject that I thoroughly enjoy painting is animals.

Recently, my daughter asked me to paint a portrait of her boyfriend's dog for a gift.

You didn't have to ask me twice.

My daughter and her boyfriend really liked it and showed it to their friends and before you knew it I had commissioned orders!

The other thing I enjoy about painting these is that it gives me the opportunity to work in another medium that I enjoy.  These are watercolor paintings, suitable for framing.  I love the change of pace from my porcelain, oils, and glass work.

I also love painting these because it brings so much joy to the owners.

I Heart February!

Dear Friends,

It looks like you found it....Welcome to my online home! For those of you who have been using my previous website, I think you will find this new one much more friendlier and easier to use. And for my new viewers...Thank you so much for your interest in my art.

Well, it has been an unseasonably warm past few days in my home town of Fullerton, California and when it is warm during this time of the year I really look forward to the upcoming spring season when all my flowers in my garden will start to bloom. It's right around the corner! I recently had my gardener and his wife help me prune my garden. And while the garden is mainly bare, I just noticed that the warm weather has caused a few of my roses to start blooming early already.

I just love when my garden is in bloom because I can go out into my back yard and gather roses and other types of flowers to use as my studies for my work.

It's February also and I love this time of the year because I am a romantic at heart and am looking forward to Valentines Week....one of my favorite days of the year. I just wonder what my boyfriend Allen (aka my husband of 33 years) has in store for me! So this always inspires and reminds me to bring my heart shaped boxes and other romantic items out to look at.
